You may not be an externally dependant person:
You should be happy if that’s the reason you rarely fall in love because lack of external dependency is a reflection of personal stability and strength.
External Dependency is being dependant on other factors or objects in order to feel happy or in order to escape your bad emotions, just like some people resort to drugs in order to feel happy, others would resort to loving someone in order to experience new emotions that make them forget their current ones.

If your mind used the visual representation system then most probably you won't fall in love with someone unless he/she is good looking. Yes, there may be lots of good looking people around but they may not be matching your other criteria too. By putting a strong emphasis on looks you are making your search criteria tighter and so decreasing your chance of loving someone.

Of course when you love someone you unconsciously feel that you love him and that’s why I used the word unconscious criteria. Your task in that case is knowing yourself more in order to identify this criteria then see if its logical or just way too far from reality, and if you found that its far, try removing some of the parameters.

Some people can't stay alone, they always need to be with someone else because they can't handle their mood swings or emotions. On the contrary people who have the power of solitude may even enjoy staying alone, that’s another good point about your personality.
